![]() by Marcia Tabram Philips May, 2002 When I was born, my mama smiled at me, she said, "My precious, precious child, I love you more than chocolate!" As mama held me to her breast, she would sweetly say, "I love you. I love you more with each and every day!" In that old rockin' chair my mama held me, she would say, "My precious, precious child, I love you more than chocolate!" Some days were good, same days were blue, yet mama always said, "I love you. I love you more with each and every day!" Chorus: Well, I fell in love with my high school sweetheart and I was heard to say, "My precious, precious daring, I love you more than chocolate!" My love and I were married and through the years I was heard to say, "I love you. I love you more with each and every day!" Then one day we had a son and I was glad to say, "My precious, precious child, I love you more than chocolate!" As my mama taught me, each of my kids would often hear me say, "I love you. I love you more with each and every day!" Chorus: Our children married their own sweethearts, and I heard them all say, "My precious, precious darling, I love you more than chocolate!" As each grandchild was born and raised, I heard my own kids say, "I love you. I love you more with each and every day!" Mama went to heaven and at her grave, all the family said, "Mama, you taught us well. We love you more than chocolate!" If I could have my way, each and every child would hear their parents say, "I love you. I love you more with each and every day!" Chorus: "I love you more than chocolate!" is what she'd always say, "More than rainy afternoons and sunny summer days. And when you're feeling all alone and things won't go your way, Just know I love you more than chocolate! I love you more and more each day! Just know I love you more than chocolate! I love you more and more each day!"
